Unity in the Seven Hills

WHERE SPIRITUAL GROWTH FINDS COMMUNITY

The Unity Spiritual Movement was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1889 by husband and wife, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore.  It grew out of the Transcendentalist social and philosophical movement of the mid-19th Century. It ultimately became part of the greater New Thought Movement, which originated in Phineas Quimby's writings.  The key factor of the Fillmores’ belief system – and Unity’s teaching today – is the power within the individual to overcome the challenges of the human experience through the practice of affirmative prayer and meditation.

Lovingly, we reach out!

Unity in the Seven Hills promotes both a healthy inner life AND a healthy community! We provide resources through our food pantry, little library, and by working with other non-profits. We also show up in love at local Pride events, community gatherings, and calls for civil action! We believe in the inherent goodness of all and walk the path that creates!
